Hexagon Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client, a highly respected and fast-growing haulage company based in Thurrock, for a proactive and detail-focused Bookings Administrator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy transport office where you’ll play a key role in keeping bookings, customer communication, and admin processes running smoothly.
Requirements
The Role
As a Bookings Administrator, you will be the backbone of the daily operation, ensuring all customer requests, bookings, and documentation are handled accurately and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring the departmental inbox and ensuring all emails are responded to and actioned promptly
- Handling day-to-day bookings and general administration tasks
- Communicating professionally with customers and internal departments
- Checking rate confirmations, rating jobs, and issuing invoices
- Answering calls, inputting data, arranging meetings, and supporting other admin functions
- Liaising with internal support teams to resolve IT or system issues
What We’re Looking For
- Strong IT skills with confident use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Previous experience in an office-based administration role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A positive, proactive approach and a willingness to learn new systems
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Experience using TOPS software
- Background in haulage, transport, or shipping
Additional Requirement
A driving licence and access to your own transport, due to the office location.
