The Applications Engineer will provide technical expertise and support for our stationary range of equipment and associated software across the UK and Ireland region, with occasional support required across the wider North EMEA area. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive applications support, ensuring customers achieve optimal performance and value from our solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver general applications support, including but not limited to:
- Training (on-site and remote), including development of training literature
- On-site technical support
- Programming and configuration
- Help desk assistance – Diagnose and resolve application-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Product demonstrations and sales support – Collaborate with Sales and Service teams to identify customer needs and propose tailored solutions.
- Turnkey project execution
- Complete associated administration tasks in a timely manner (e.g., reports, documentation, CRM updates).
- Ensure compliance with organisational standards, including health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Provide input for continuous improvement initiatives and product development.
- Occasional travel and support across the wider North EMEA region.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or completed apprenticeship in a technical discipline (Engineering, Physics, or related field).
- Minimum 2–3 years post-degree or apprenticeship experience in an engineering environment.
- Ability to understand and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering drawings.
- Proven experience in the Quality/CMM arena, preferably with stationary equipment or metrology systems.
- Background in applications engineering or technical support is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English are essential.
- Willingness to travel across UK and Ireland and occasionally North EMEA as required.
