Job Summary
Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker
Location:Willow Cottage Children’s Home – Hensall
Hours: 40.5 hours per week
Salary: £30,500 – £34,100 (depending on experience and qualifications) *
Earnings:£35,675 – £39,275 (based on 10 sleep ins per month)
Shift Pattern: 1 shift on, 2 shifts off
Shift Pattern: 9:30m – 11pm followed by a sleep in after every shift
Annual Leave Entitlement: 251.1 hours

The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Willow Cottage Children’s Home. This role is perfect for someone with at least 12 months’ experience in a children’s residential home, who is passionate about making a real impact. Working alongside an experienced and supportive management team, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive, nurturing home environment where young people feel safe, supported, and empowered.
Key Responsibilities
- Support young people in a range of activities, including cooking, cleaning, outings, and taking part in games and appointments.
- Manage challenging behaviours effectively and professionally, with support from senior staff and therapeutic services.
- Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young people, ensuring they feel heard and valued.
- Collaborate with psychologists and the therapy team to establish appropriate boundaries and strategies for supporting the children in your care.
What We’re Looking For:
- A genuine passion for safeguarding, motivating, and inspiring young people.
- Ability to demonstrate and lead by example, sharing best practices with your team.
- Experience with challenging behaviour, with the ability to handle such situations calmly and professionally.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
- Experience of working in a residential home for children is essential for the role (minimum of 12 months experience) having a relevant qualification is advantageous, although not essential.
