Job Description
Job Title: Residential Support Worker
Home: The Nook Children’s Home – Ofsted Outstanding
Location: Colne
Hours: 20.25 hours per week
Salary: £13,175 – £15,025 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Earnings: £14.975 – £16,825 (based on 3.5 sleep-ins per month)
Shift Pattern: This role does not follow a fixed shift pattern. It offers guaranteed hours but operates similarly to a casual position, primarily covering gaps in the rota due to staff absence, such as sickness or annual leave.
Annual Leave Entitlement: 122 hours

The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ResidentialSupportWorker to join our team at The Nook Children’s Home, which has been rated Ofsted Outstanding. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and working alongside an experienced, skilled team of professionals. You will help provide essential support to young people in care, assisting them with daily activities, appointments, and behavioural management, all while creating a positive and nurturing home environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support young people in a range of activities, including cooking, cleaning, outings, and taking part in games and appointments.
· Manage challenging behaviours effectively and professionally, with support from senior staff and therapeutic services.
· Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young people, ensuring they feel heard and valued.
· Collaborate with psychologists and the therapy team to establish appropriate boundaries and strategies for supporting the children in your care.
