Join our solver development team to create advanced mathematical models and software for simulating multi-physics behaviour in next-generation driveline and energy systems. You’ll work on challenging technical problems, developing new modelling approaches and implementing high-performance solvers used by automotive, EV and renewable-energy innovators worldwide.

This is a hybrid position in Nottingham, UK.

What You'll Do
  • Development of mathematical models to simulate performance of various physical domains and their interactions.
  • Development of analytical and numerical solvers (including time-stepping solvers) to solve ordinary and partial differential equations and differential algebraic equations.
  • Software implementation of mathematical models and solvers.
  • Extension of proof-of-concepts to full software implementations.
  • Documentation of technical methods.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Physics, Mathematics, or a relevant Engineering discipline with 3–5 years of experience (exceptional entry-level PhD candidates will be considered), or a master’s with 5–7 years of experience.
  • Experience in physics-based modelling.
  • Experience in multi-body dynamics or multi-physics simulation would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming and appreciation for a good software architecture.
  • Proficiency in a programming language, preferably C++.
  • Collaborative approach and good communication skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and work in other programming languages such as C# and Smalltalk.
