The CAD Development Manager leads a team of software engineers focused on delivering high‑quality CAD‑related algorithms and infrastructure for Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. This role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and the ability to drive complex development initiatives while supporting cross‑functional teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a software development team responsible for CAD-related algorithms and tools.
  • Drive planning, execution, and delivery of development projects aligned with product strategy.
  • Collaborate with QA, Product Management, Architecture and DevOps to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Oversee technical design, code quality, and best engineering practices.
  • Mentor and support career development for engineers at multiple levels.
  • Ensure project timelines, communication, and delivery milestones are met.
  • Support technical problem solving and serve as an escalation point for complex engineering issues.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Math, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership or team management experience in software engineering.
  • Strong background in CAD technologies, geometric modeling, or engineering software.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as C++ or C#.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make data‑driven decisions.

The role is fully remote for candidates across the UK and EU, with hybrid options in certain locations. The position may require occasional travel for team meetings, customer visits, or Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence events. Work may involve extended periods of computer use and collaboration across global time zones.

Location: Caponago, Italy (Remote – United Kingdom or EU with optional hybrid in certain countries).
