We are recruiting an experienced and forward‑thinking Engineering Manager to lead and develop our engineering function across a global organisation operating within highly regulated manufacturing environments. The role leads a team of eight and serves as a global technical authority, driving alignment, governance, engineering standards, and best practice across international subsidiaries.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and deliver engineering strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Drive engineering excellence across product development, industrialisation, and project delivery.
- Develop and implement global engineering standards, processes, and governance frameworks.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring delivery to quality, cost, and timing targets.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across international engineering teams.
- Align engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices globally.
- Manage engineering risk, validation, APQP, PPAP, and change management processes.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Coach and develop engineering capability across the organisation.
- Support innovation, technology roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive engineering leadership experience within automotive, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of product development, design engineering, project engineering, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to lead complex engineering programmes and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, structured product development, and engineering governance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Experience driving continuous improvement and organisational capability development.
- Familiarity with standards such as IATF16949 and/or AS9100.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within global or multi‑site engineering organisations.
- Experience supporting organisational transformation or restructuring.
- Exposure to product strategy or technology roadmap development.
- Project management qualifications.
- Membership of a recognised engineering institution (e.g., IMechE).
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline — or equivalent industry experience.
