Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Setting Out Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately translating design plans into physical markers on-site, ensuring precise positioning of structures in accordance with project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and review engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to determine setting out requirements.
- Use specialised surveying equipment, such as total stations and GPS systems, to mark out positions on-site.
- Ensure all setting out activities comply with health and safety regulations and project standards.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, surveyors, and construction teams to coordinate activities.
- Conduct quality checks to verify the accuracy of setting out points throughout the construction process.
- Maintain detailed records of measurements, adjustments, and modifications made during setting out operations.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to site layout or measurements promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with surveying tools and technology such as total stations, GPS equipment, and related software.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and markings.
- Must have own equipment
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred for site travel purposes.
- A recognised qualification in civil engineering, surveying, or a related field is advantageous.
