Quantity Surveyor
Permanent Hampshire / West Sussex border (office based, with site visits across the South East and London) Salary dependent on experience Our client is a long-established, family-run main contractor with more than 50 years behind them.
They build high-end residential new builds, major refurbishments and alterations to Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, plus commercial, ecclesiastical, educational and healthcare work.
Directly employed craftsmen, their own apprenticeship scheme, and a reputation built on quality rather than volume.
Projects typically run from the Hampshire and Sussex coast up through Surrey and into London.
Values vary, and no two jobs are the same.
The role You'll take ownership of the commercial side of live projects, working closely with the pre-construction team and site management.
Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets and forecasts Measure and value works, prepare interim valuations and applications Procure and manage subcontract packages Value variations and manage change control Agree final accounts Report cost and value to the directors Visit sites regularly and work alongside contracts managers What they're looking for Proven QS experience with a main contractor (not consultancy-only) Background in high-end residential, refurbishment or heritage work is a strong advantage Comfortable working on traditional and design-and-build contracts Confident with JCT forms Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience Full UK driving licence What's on offer Permanent, full-time position Salary dependent on experience Genuine variety of work and long-term project pipeline Small, stable team where your work is visible and your input counts Apply through Hexa Services with an up-to-date CV.
