Scholarship Scheme
Every year we invite talented first‑year civil engineering students to apply for the Scholarship Scheme. This successful scheme has been running for over 15 years, providing industrial experience to civil engineering students with an interest in bridges and civil structures. Many of these scholarship students have gone on to join us as graduate engineers and to progress through the company into senior roles.
Placements
- An initial 8‑week summer placement at the end of your 1st academic year.
- A 12‑month industrial placement at the end of your 2nd academic year.
- A further 8‑week summer placement at the end of your 3rd academic year.
Rates of pay increase during each placement and exceed the Real Living Wage. It is our hope that, after graduating with a Masters degree (2:1 or higher), scholarship students will join our Graduate Programme.
Qualifications and Requirements
- First‑year student enrolled or committed to change to an integrated Masters in Civil Engineering with the option for an industrial placement year.
- Excellent A‑level grades (A or A*) in Maths and Physics.
- Developing a good theoretical understanding of structural analyses.
- Capable of managing time effectively.
