The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.
We have an international reputation for innovative design and construction engineering solutions on a range of technically demanding projects with complex ground conditions. This includes soft ground, hard rock tunnelling, bridge foundations, strengthened slopes, and temporary cofferdams. The majority of our clients both in the UK and overseas are contractors, including foundation and tunnel construction specialists. We are valued by them for practical yet efficient permanent and temporary works designs.
We are seeking principal/senior level Geotechnical Engineers to help further develop our expertise in the design and assessment of large foundations, underground structures, slope retention and earthworks. This will also include preparation of geotechnical investigation specifications, interpretative and design reports.
The Role
- You must be a chartered Civil Engineer (MICE or equivalent);
- Have demonstrable experience in heavy civil geotechnical design / construction (e.g. piling, basements, underpinning, retaining walls, cut/cover tunnels / underground stations etc.);
- Have a good reputation with UK clients;
- Have the vision to see the advantages of developing your career within a specialist SME consultant firm;
- Be self‑motivated and have a strong drive to succeed;
- Possess good management and team leadership skills;
- Be keen to encourage other team members in geotechnical engineering and present within our excellent internal CPD programme.
Ideally you will also:
- Be willing to write technical papers and present at conferences;
- Have experience working on overseas projects;
- Have a desire to work with the senior leadership team to develop the geotechnical side of the business, here in the UK and overseas.
It would also be an added advantage if you have:
- A post‑graduate qualification in geotechnical engineering or related subject;
- A history of involvement in technical and code drafting committees such as BGA, AGS or ISFMG;
- Experience tutoring or lecturing on civil engineering degree or geotechnical MSc courses;
- Experience or some involvement in geotechnical research being undertaken at a UK university.
