HPE is looking for a Software Engineering Resolution Engineer to join our Level 3 global service HPC team. The HPC Service Engineer provides support for high performance computing cluster management on a variety of supercomputer and cluster-based products. The focus for this position is tracking, communicating, troubleshooting, testing issues/fixes, analyzing Linux, and performance issues tied to the HPE Performance Cluster Manager (HPCM) software and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for customer-reported issues escalated to level 3 support.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, reproduce, isolate, escalate, and resolve issues.
- Facilitate high quality communication with customers.
- Work with various HPE teams, including but not limited to, HPE Level 2 support, Publications, Training, Support Planning, Testing and Development.
- Design engineering solutions utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for products, systems, software, and solutions based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
- Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Test and provide new system software updates and documentation via customer portal.
- Document and communicate throughout the whole process of working on an issue until closure.
- Rotation of on-call duties with other staff to provide 24x7 coverage.
- Ability to provide after-hours support, as required.
- Occasional travel for training or to assist with installations or support remote systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field/discipline.
- Typically, 4-6 years of technical experience, ideally in an HPC-related area.
- Strong Linux knowledge and Linux administration skills and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Linux cluster management experience is very desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
- Good communication skills, internally within HPE and externally with customers, both verbal and written.
- Ability to gather data, perform analysis, reproduce, resolve, or escalate, and see issues through to closure.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize, switching between working on several issues at once.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment to investigate and resolve complex problems as part of a team.
