Storage Specialist – Public Sector

This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

HPE are seeking a high-performing Storage Sales Specialist to lead both new business development and strategic account growth within the UK Healthcare sector.

Focused on HPE’s market-leading data services portfolio, this role requires a hybrid sales mindset: part hunter, uncovering new opportunities across NHS Trusts, ICBs, and healthcare providers; part account leader, deepening relationships and expanding footprint within existing public sector customers.

You will act as a consultative partner, aligning HPE’s data infrastructure solutions to the operational, clinical, and financial priorities of healthcare customers. The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of public sector procurement, budget cycles, and the transformation goals of UK healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives sales of the HPE storage portfolio, using strong leadership and initiative to successfully prospect, negotiate and close deals.
  • Actively generates customer interest and anticipates customer\’s buying trends. Links business and financial benefits with technology offerings. Illustrates the ROI & TCO advantages of HPE offerings for the customer\’s business.
  • Focuses on and works with the channel to forge relationships, provide enablement of key technologies, and co-sell to end-users.
  • Collaborates across HPE teams to deliver a consistent approach to developing business, including account planning for end-to-end solutions.
  • Effectively leads storage marketing campaigns to ensure a successful launch and maintenance of the campaign momentum, in alignment with the account strategy.

Education and Experience:

  • University or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of field-sales experience.
  • 1-3 years of storage-sales experience.
  • UK Healthcare industry knowledge preferred.

  • Understands the role of IT within the area of storage. Understands how the company\’s solutions address specific vertical industry challenges, as well as their cross-segment capabilities.
  • Is considered an expert in knowledge of storage, cloud, solution or service offerings.
  • Demonstrates a hunter mentality to actively pursue opportunities in acquisition and development accounts.
  • Possesses the ability to independently articulate the technical solution and the commercial benefits to the client.
  • Uses commercial expertise to negotiate and drive deals to ensure successful closure and a high win rate.
