Job Description:
Job Family Definition: Responsible for providing technical pre-sales consultancy in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet a customer’s business needs. Creates and maintains effective customer relationships and builds trusted advisor status within key customer accounts. Maintains broad technical knowledge and familiarisation with the HPE networking portfolio alongside subject matter expertise in their area of specialization (e.g., Campus & Branch, Security, Data Centre, etc). This role is hybrid – Systems Engineers are home-based, but travel to HPE offices and customer sites is required as part of the day-to-day role.
Responsibilities:
- Work with one or more assigned account managers to grow the enterprise networking business in a customer vertical, supporting the wider team as required.
- Develop knowledge across the HPE Networking portfolio, with subject matter expertise in at least one technology.
- Build, develop, and maintain trusted and professional relationships with customer technical stakeholders and partner community.
- Deliver compelling demos of HPE Networking solutions.
- Lead whiteboard discussions to understand & solve customer network and security challenges.
- Guide customers and partners through proof of concept activities that demonstrate the value of HPE Networking solutions.
- Capture new customer or industry requirements and trends and feed this into product management teams.
- Engage and influence customer technology strategies through showcasing HPE innovative technologies through technical sales presentations, whiteboarding sessions, customer technology events, product demonstrations and evaluations and proof of concepts.
- Continuously learn and stay ahead of the industry and competitive solutions, products, and services.
Education and Experience Required:
- Hands-on experience working with two or more of the following technologies: Enterprise Wi-Fi, Campus switching, Data centre switching, WAN routing, Firewalls and IPsec VPNs, Network Access Control (NAC), SD-WAN, Secure Services Edge (SSE) solutions.
- 2+ years of pre-sales experience in networking or security, although customer-facing professional services experience will also be considered.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to discuss technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
