This hybrid role requires you to spend approximately two days per week at an HPE office. You will provide technical pre‑sales consultancy in creating and delivering technology solutions that meet customers’ business needs. In addition, you will build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with key customer accounts, and maintain broad technical knowledge of the HPE networking portfolio and your area of specialization (Campus & Branch, Security, Data Centre, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Work with one or more assigned account managers to grow the enterprise networking business in a customer vertical and support the wider team as required.
  • Develop knowledge across the HPE networking portfolio and become a subject‑matter expert in at least one technology.
  • Leverage consultative selling techniques to build, develop, and maintain trusted professional relationships with customer technical stakeholders and partner communities.
  • Deliver compelling demos of HPE networking solutions.
  • Lead whiteboard discussions to understand and solve customer network and security challenges.
  • Guide customers and partners through proof‑of‑concept activities that demonstrate the value of HPE networking solutions.
  • Capture new customer or industry requirements and trends and feed them into product‑management and business units.
  • Work independently, knowing when to escalate the support of the wider team when required.
  • Lead the technical response for RFP/RFQ and build bill‑of‑materials for relevant sales opportunities.
  • Engage and influence customer technology strategies through technical sales presentations, white‑boarding sessions, customer technology events, product demonstrations, evaluations, and proof of concepts.
  • Continuously learn and stay ahead of industry and competitive solutions, products, and services.

  • Enterprise Wi‑Fi
  • Campus switching
  • Data centre switching, including EVPN‑VXLAN
  • WAN routing, including BGP and MPLS
  • Firewalls and IP‑sec VPNs
  • Network Access Control (NAC)
  • SD‑WAN
  • Secure Services Edge (SSE) solutions
  • Hands‑on experience working with HPE Juniper Networking or HPE Aruba Networking is a significant advantage but is not essential.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of pre‑sales experience in networking or security; customer‑facing professional services experience also considered.
  • A relevant university degree is an advantage but is not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to discuss technical concepts with a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to deliver technical sales presentations, white‑board technical design sessions, and conduct product demonstrations or seminars.
  • Motivated by building business success through supporting customers, collaborating with customers and partners to help them succeed.
  • Proven technical capability, ability to learn quickly, and apply skills in new areas; ability to explain complex matters in a structured, easy‑to‑understand way.
