We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead this multiâdisciplinary software team, providing people leadership, delivery coordination, and strategic input into the product roadmap. This is a handsâoff management role, focused on enabling teams to do their best work rather than individual contribution.
What youâll do as a Senior Manager
- Lead and lineâmanage a team of software engineers, including permanent staff and contractors
- Build a highâperforming team through coaching, feedback, and professional development
- Coordinate the team through sprint planning, standâups, and collaboration with adjacent teams
- Recruit and onboard new software developers as the team grows
- Partner with product management, support, and senior leadership to shape mediumâ and longâterm roadmaps
- Act as an escalation point for internal and external customer issues
The team & technology
The team works across a range of technologies and platforms, including:
- A cloudâbased fullâstack web application (React, Django) used by IT administrators for remote management
- An onâdevice management application (C#, WPF) that enables users to directly manage security features
While this is a hands-off role, familiarity with modern software development practices and the technologies used by the team would be beneficial.
What youâll bring
- At least 2 yearsâ experience managing a team of software developers
- A prior background in software development
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance technical, product, and business priorities
- Experience hiring and growing teams
- Confidence handling escalations and difficult conversations
Location & working model
This role is based in HPâs Cambridge office under a hybrid working arrangement, with a minimum requirement to be onsite three days per week. As a peopleâfocused leadership role, regular inâperson collaboration is encouraged.
HP has invested in a new, modern site, including ergonomic workspaces and well stocked kitchen facilities that included a wide selection of coffee.
Why join HP Wolf Security
HP Wolf Security is central to HPâs strategy in the PC market, with security designed into hardware, firmware, and software. This integrated approach enables HP to differentiate through builtâin, enterpriseâgrade protection and manageability. This role sits at the heart of that strategy, helping deliver the tools that allow customers to deploy, manage, and trust secure PCs at scale.
Our history:
Inspired by the isolation principles of traditional virtualization, our team known then as Bromium, created a game-changing technology called micro-virtualization to protect end users against advanced malware. Every task the user performs, such as opening a document or clicking on a link, is isolated in its own micro-VM, with access to just the resources required for that task, and existing just for the life of the task. Protection is thus provided through isolation, without relying on detection, hence reliably defending the user from polymorphic and even zero-day malware.
Bromium was acquired by HP Inc on 19 September 2019 forming HP Wolf Security.
