The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.

This role has been designed as onsite with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing cross‑functional, cross‑regional human rights due diligence programs and processes, especially in Responsible Use of technology.
  • Developing and maintaining standards to advance HPE’s human rights program, including strategizing and implementing advancements in our stakeholder engagement, expanding and driving our work on human rights into our sales partner channel, and playing a key role in our work on the ethics of artificial intelligence.
  • Contributing to the overall human rights program strategy, including evaluation of program effectiveness, trend analysis, benchmarking, assessing readiness for emerging human rights due diligence regulations, and advancing our roadmap on human rights.
  • Managing our regular human rights impact assessment across our whole value chain.
  • Managing or contributing to our human rights report, while supporting other publications.
  • Collaborating with industry groups, non‑profit organizations, and rights holder representatives on human rights initiatives and programs, as appropriate.
  • Supporting and where possible leading data management, program progress, and reporting against internal targets and externally communicated social goals.
  • Working with global teams and sales and technology partners across the world; flexibility to occasionally work outside normal business hours to accommodate time zone differences.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
  • Three or more years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of advance degree and relevant experience).

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Subject matter expertise in business and human rights, including a fundamental understanding and application of the United Nations’ Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) or the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
  • Strong understanding of emerging human rights issues in the corporate context.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Familiarity and ability to work extensively with workplace tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent team and project management skills, including project structuring.
  • Database management and data analytics skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and generate new and innovative solutions to complex problems.

Desirable Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience implementing and operating human rights activities consistent with the UNGPs, and measuring the success of such a program.
  • Experience participating in leading industry organizations in the human rights space.
  • Familiarity with human rights issues in the context of responsible product use and the ethics of artificial intelligence.
  • Experience in managing stakeholder engagement including facilitating discussions, responding to queries or concerns and building effective partnerships with civil society.
  • An advanced degree, preferably in a human rights‑related field, business, corporate responsibility and/or public policy.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Experience in the technology sector or technical education.
