This role has been designed as ‘Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.
Responsibilities
- Managing and developing cross‑functional, cross‑regional human rights due diligence programs and processes, especially in Responsible Use of technology.
- Developing and maintaining standards and implementing advancements in stakeholder engagement.
- Expanding and driving human rights work into the sales partner channel.
- Playing a key role in the ethics of artificial intelligence.
- Contributing to the overall human rights program strategy, evaluating program effectiveness, trend analysis, benchmarking, assessing readiness for emerging regulations, and advancing the roadmap.
- Managing regular human rights impact assessments across the whole value chain.
- Managing or contributing to the human rights report and supporting other publications.
- Collaborating with industry groups, non‑profits, and rights holder representatives on initiatives and programs.
- Supporting or leading data management, program progress, and reporting against internal targets and external social goals.
- Working with global teams and partners across the world; flexibility to work outside normal business hours to accommodate time zones.
Qualifications
- First‑level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
- Three or more years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of advanced degree and relevant experience).
- Subject‑matter expertise in business and human rights, including fundamental understanding and application of UNGPs or OECD Guidelines.
- Strong understanding of emerging human rights issues in corporate context.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with and ability to work extensively with workplace tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent team and project management skills, including project structuring.
- Database management and data analytics skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and generate new innovative solutions.
- Desirable: experience implementing and operating human rights activities consistent with UNGPs, measuring success; participation in leading industry organizations in the human rights space; familiarity with responsible product use and the ethics of AI; experience managing stakeholder engagement; advanced degree in human‑rights–related field or business or public policy; presentation skills; experience in technology sector or technical education; travel occasionally.
