Due to Hewland’s continued expansion and strong product portfolio across both motorsport and future automotive, we are looking to recruit a Quality and H&S Engineer to support production output.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Primary function – Production Quality Assurance
- Participation in Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety projects.
- Participant of annual strategic KPI’s FTT, Zero Defects.
- Internal & External complaints (NCR\’s & 8D\’s)
- Internal Auditor for Environmental/Quality Management System – ISO9001/14001:2015
- Continuous Improvement and 5S projects
- APQP – PPAP knowledge for OEM project deliverables
- Participation of supplier audits for outsourced components.
- Alignment with key customers to facilitate problem resolution & continuous improvement.
- Conduct of all activity in accordance with company health, safety, environmental and employment policies.
- Technical training & Toolbox talks.
The ideal candidate must have/ skills required:
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum 2 years within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
- Prior experience knowledge of health, safety and environmental systems, standards, and legislation.
- Internal auditor for ISO9001 and 14001.
- Supplier auditing experience.
- GD&T knowledge in interpreting complex precision engineering drawings.
- IOSH/NEBOSH Training.
The ideal candidate may have/ skills required:
· Degree qualified in a relevant discipline desirable.
· Understanding of ISO9001 / 14001 to the latest 2015 standard.
· Internal auditor for ISO9001 and 14001.
· Prior experience of quality leadership within a precision machining/ manufacturing environment supplying to automotive/ aerospace sectors.
