A well-established international engineering business is looking to recruit a Service Desk Technician to join its IT function based in Worcester. This role suits someone with solid experience in 1st and 2nd line IT support who enjoys working in a customer-facing environment, resolving technical issues, and contributing to the smooth running of IT services across a European user base.

The role

  • Deliver first and second line technical support to end users across multiple European locations
  • Receive, log and manage support requests through a central service desk system
  • Take full ownership of incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication
  • Provide support across desktop, laptop, peripherals, software and user access issues
  • Assist with hardware provisioning, system upgrades, patching and security-related updates
  • Work closely with senior IT colleagues and global teams to escalate and resolve more complex issues
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation and knowledge base content
  • Support ongoing improvements to IT processes and service delivery

About you

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a service desk, desktop support or IT support role
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office applications
  • Hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft 365
  • Some exposure to scripting or automation within an IT support environment
  • Well organised, able to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset with good communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a collaborative IT team
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience
