An established, high-volume manufacturing site is seeking a Maintenance Lead to join its Site Management Team. This is a people-focused leadership role where you will take ownership of maintenance execution, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment.

Working closely with Operations and Production leaders, you will lead a team of Shift Engineers to ensure assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting production targets, quality standards, and cost control.

As Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for driving maintenance performance across your assigned area, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and team development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Championing a safe working culture and promoting best practice across all maintenance activities
  • Leading and developing Shift Engineers through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job development
  • Ensuring effective execution of corrective, preventative, and planned maintenance activities
  • Driving root cause analysis and implementing long-term reliability improvements
  • Improving maintenance and processing methods to reduce downtime and operating costs
  • Supporting and reviewing first-line preventative maintenance plans with Production Leaders
  • Coordinating external contractors, suppliers, and technical specialists
  • Managing maintenance routines, planning, and reporting within SAP
  • Overseeing MRO budget control and spare parts management
  • Scheduling planned maintenance around production requirements
  • Providing cover for the Maintenance Manager when required
  • Supporting site-wide operational excellence and maintenance framework initiatives

The role requires flexibility to work across shifts as needed to support the team and site performance.

You’ll be a confident engineering leader with strong technical foundations and a collaborative management style. You are analytical, solutions-focused, and comfortable making decisions in a high-pressure manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

  • HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline
  • Proven experience leading or supervising maintenance teams in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capability
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office (desirable)
  • A passion for reliability, continuous improvement, and manufacturing excellence
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across departments
