Head of Finance

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a role where you can really make an impact?
We are recruiting for a Head of Finance to join an established and successful business based in Worcester. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a varied, hands-on position offering the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function whilst playing a key role within the wider management team.
You'll combine strong technical finance expertise with a commercial mindset, leading the finance team and providing valuable insight to support business performance and future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a small finance team
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts
- Manage month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
- Cash flow forecasting and monitoring
- Lead annual budgets, forecasts and longer-term financial planning
- Provide meaningful financial information to support commercial decisions
- Maintain robust financial controls, policies and procedures
- Identify cost savings and opportunities for process improvement
- Manage credit control, debtor days and bad debt exposure
- Oversee VAT and HMRC returns
- Provide oversight of HR processes across the business
- Support key IT and cyber security processes
- Work closely with the Managing Director and wider management team
About You:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience
- Strong management accounting experience
- Previous responsibility for budgets and forecasting
- Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills
- Confident leading and motivating a team
- Commercially aware with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Strong communication skills and comfortable working with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
