Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm (early finish on Fridays)

The Opportunity

We are working in partnership with a well-established and highly regarded manufacturing business to recruit a Supply Chain Coordinator on a fixed-term basis, with the potential for a permanent opportunity. This is a hands-on, varied role requiring a strong on-site presence across both the shop floor and office. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, components, and production activity within a fast-paced, technical environment. This position would suit someone with experience in engineering or manufacturing settings who is confident working with technical drawings and enjoys being closely involved in day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of purchasing activities for materials, components, and external services
  • Coordinate production planning to align with customer demand and operational capacity
  • Work closely with internal teams to manage workflow, job releases, and production priorities
  • Monitor stock levels, ensuring accuracy, availability, and traceability of materials
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance, lead times, and cost efficiency
  • Proactively resolve supply chain issues such as shortages or delays
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and operational processes
  • Maintain a strong presence on-site, collaborating with both office-based and shop floor teams

About You

  • Previous experience within a supply chain, purchasing, or planning role in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of production processes and material flow
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or engineering specifications
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, hands-on role
  • Experience with ERP systems (such as D365, IFS, or similar) is advantageous
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a willingness to be visible and engaged on-site
