Wood Machine Operative in Stourport-on-Severn

Hewett Recruitment is excited to be recruiting an experienced Wood Machine Operative for our client based in Stourport-on-Severn. This is a Temporary to Permanent opportunity, with the potential for a permanent contract following a successful trial period. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating wood processing machinery and will be responsible for producing high-quality components while ensuring smooth production flow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate a range of wood processing machinery, including automatic and manual systems
• Interpret technical drawings and cutting lists to ensure precise production
• Select and apply suitable materials, adhesives, and finishes based on job requirements
• Inspect finished components for quality, accuracy, and consistency
• Perform routine machine maintenance, adjustments, and cleaning to ensure optimal performance

What We\’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in operating wood machinery such as Edgebanders, Saws, Planers, and other Woodworking tools
• Strong knowledge of woodworking materials (e.g., MDF, plywood, laminate, veneer)
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results

Location: Stourport-on-Severn

Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:30
Pay: From £12.21 per hour / Depending on experience
Contract: Temp – Perm
