A well-established manufacturing business based in Hartlebury is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the night shift maintenance team within a busy production environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineering professional with strong leadership skills to play a key role in maintaining site reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across the operation.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the night shift maintenance function, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures. You will lead a small team of engineers and technicians, working closely with production teams to support operational performance and maintain high engineering standards across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and supporting the night shift maintenance team
- Managing reactive breakdowns to minimise downtime and disruption to production
- Overseeing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities
- Ensuring maintenance tasks are completed and recorded accurately within the CMMS system
- Supporting training and development of maintenance team members
- Working closely with production and other departments to coordinate priorities and handovers
- Monitoring equipment performance and supporting improvements to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Managing shift documentation, permits, and maintenance records
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company procedures
- Supporting continuous improvement and engineering best practice across the site
Requirements
- Previous experience within a maintenance engineering environment
- Supervisory or team leadership experience within manufacturing or industrial maintenance
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities
- Experience working on industrial machinery and production equipment
- Good understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance systems
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
- Flexible and proactive approach to problem solving
Desirable
- Engineering qualification or technical certification
- Experience using CMMS/Maintenance management systems
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures including permits to work and risk assessments
