Our client is a leading Contract Research Organisation (CRO) specialising in non-clinical safety testing for the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and chemical industries and they are looking to recruit a highly skilled professional to join their Pathology Sciences Department in Ledbury. With Investors in People Gold accreditation, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a growing team, with excellent prospects for career progression.

Your role as a Toxicologic Pathologist:

  • Provide expert advice on anatomic and clinical pathology requirements for non-clinical safety studies.
  • Supervise necropsies, ensuring sampling and preservation are conducted to protocol standards, and advise on macroscopic findings.
  • Perform microscopic evaluation, interpret findings, and correlate with macroscopic results, organ weights, and clinical pathology data.
  • Work closely with internal and external clients to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Mentor and peer-review junior pathologists in collaboration with the Head of Pathology Sciences.
  • Carry out specified veterinary procedures as occasionally required.
  • Actively promote the highest standards of animal welfare.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • FRCPath or Diplomate of ACVP or ECVP (essential).
  • Veterinary degree (DVM, VMD, BVM); experience with digital pathology is a plus.
  • Higher qualification (MSc/PhD) is desirable but not required.
