Location: Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire

Salary: £15.38 per hour (c. £30,000 equivalent)

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week | 9:00am - 5:00pm

Flexitime & Hybrid Working Available (around the core hours of 10am-3pm)

We are partnering with a well-established global manufacturing organisation to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant to join their busy finance team for a 12-month temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounts experience or studying AAT/ACCA/CIMA who is looking to further develop their management accounting, costing, and financial analysis skills within a large, fast-paced business.

You’ll gain exposure to multiple areas of finance, supporting senior accountants across factory, costings, logistics, and head office functions – ideal for someone who enjoys variety and taking ownership of key finance processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with month-end processes, journals, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgets
  • Process accruals, prepayments, and employee expense claims
  • Maintain cost centre reporting and pricing updates
  • Carry out ad hoc costing and financial analysis
  • Support the wider finance team with reporting and business performance analysis
About You
  • Previous experience in a finance assistant, accounts assistant, assistant accountant, or similar finance role
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical thinking
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive and adaptable with a willingness to learn
Desirable (Not Essential)
  • Experience within manufacturing, production, or FMCG environments
  • Exposure to SAP or ERP systems
  • Studying or interested in AAT, ACCA, or CIMA qualifications
