We are looking for a proactive, organised, and detail-focused Maintenance Planner & Purchasing Coordinator to join a busy extrusion manufacturing facility in Wales. This role involves coordinating maintenance planning and purchasing activities to keep operations running efficiently.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintenance Planning
- Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Coordinate maintenance work alongside production teams to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency
- Maintain accurate maintenance schedules, records, and documentation
- Monitor completion of planned maintenance tasks and follow up on outstanding actions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within maintenance processes
- Manage spare parts inventories and ensure critical stock levels are maintained
- Purchasing & Procurement
- Source and purchase maintenance spares, consumables, and production-related materials
- Obtain quotations and negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best value for the business
- Raise purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
- Monitor stock levels and proactively manage replenishment requirements
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information using company systems
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, Purchasing Officer, Procurement Coordinator, or similar manufacturing-based role
- Strong understanding of maintenance scheduling
- Strong organisational and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
