Obsolescence Engineer – Worcester

Up to £45,000 – Dependant on experience

My client is a well-established engineering company that designs, manufactures and supplies a range of bespoke machinery. As an Obsolescence Engineer, your role will work within the existing Engineering Team and alongside the Supply Chain to maintain BOMs and review materials & products.

Responsibilities

  • Assess historical BOMs for product viability
  • Capture and report on all issues of product obsolescence
  • Liaise with the OEM and Supply Chain to identify alternative solutions
  • Maintain all live BOMs within the ERP system
  • Support the test and validation of all alternative / new products

Experience

  • Degree, HNC, HND, Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in engineering would be beneficial
  • Must be skilled in preparing technical reports and presentations
  • Experience of using engineering documentation such as technical drawings and records
  • Excellent communication skills are essential
  • Must be a team player
