An established and growing technical manufacturing / distribution business is looking to recruit an Internal Sales / Sales Support professional to join its operations team in Stourbridge. This is a varied, hands‑on role supporting customers and working closely with internal teams across sales, technical, purchasing and warehouse functions. The position would suit someone who enjoys being involved in the full order lifecycle, has strong attention to detail, and is keen to develop technical product knowledge over time.
The Role
- You will act as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring enquiries, quotations and orders are handled accurately and efficiently, while supporting internal processes and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Handling inbound customer enquiries by phone and email
- Preparing and issuing quotations in a timely and accurate manner
- Processing sales orders on the company ERP system (SAP Business One)
- Supporting customers with product catalogue selection (full training provided)
- Liaising with sales, technical, purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment
- Assisting with purchasing processes and providing stock analysis information when required
- Gaining an understanding of basic warehouse operations (goods in, picking and despatch)
- Supporting the development of special builds and new UK‑assembled product lines
- Maintaining accurate customer and sales records in line with company procedures
- Participating in internal meetings and contributing ideas to improve processes
- Taking on additional reasonable duties as required by management
Requirements:
- This role would suit an organised, proactive individual who is comfortable working across teams and systems in a busy, detail‑driven environment.
- Previous experience in internal sales, sales support, sales administration or customer service
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and accuracy when processing orders and data
- Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to manage your own workload and work using initiative
- Willingness to learn new systems, processes and technical product knowledge
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience selling or supporting technical, electrical or industrial products
- ERP system experience (particularly SAP Business One)
- Exposure to stock control, purchasing or warehouse coordination
