The role of the Food Technical Support Manager is to be the first point of contact for all technical queries relating to product complaints and non-conformances. This is a key role in ensuring compliance with food safety regulations while maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders.
Some key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers, ensuring all technical objectives are met.
- Handle customer complaints, ensuring they are logged, investigated, and responded to in a timely manner, while also identifying trends.
- Investigate and resolve customer technical enquiries efficiently and effectively.
- Work with suppliers to resolve technical issues, ensuring corrective actions are in place.
- Monitor and report against key performance indicators (KPIs) at both business unit and company levels.
- Ensure due diligence and compliance with all legal and food safety requirements across our supplier base.
- Maintain systems and procedures to ensure customer and supplier specifications meet agreed standards and deadlines.
- Support the technical team by sharing workloads during peak periods.
- Oversee compliance with customer Codes of Practice, Specifications, and Policies, ensuring best practices are implemented.
- Manage all key supplier technical information, ensuring visibility and accessibility for relevant personnel.
- Liaise with Port Health when necessary.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Strong multitasking and project management skills.
- A degree (or equivalent) in food science or a related subject OR at least 3 years of experience in a technical role within the food industry.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation abilities.
- Effective time management to meet critical deadlines.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach.
