We are recruiting for a Software Developer to join an established UK business with a strong in-house IT team. This is a fully remote role (with occasional Birmingham travel few times per year) focused on developing and improving bespoke, business-critical systems used across the organisation.
The Role
You will be working on internal applications that support operations, compliance and reporting. This is a hands-on position where you will:
- Develop and maintain C# / .NET applications
- Work across backend, frontend and database layers
- Enhance and modernise existing systems
- Debug and resolve issues in production and test environments
- Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code
- Contribute to code reviews and quality standards
The business is keen to modernise and welcomes developers who are open to using AI-assisted tools (e.g. "GitHub Copilot") to improve productivity and code quality.
Experience Required
Essential:
- Commercial experience with C# / .NET
- SQL Server experience
- Experience with Angular or a similar JavaScript framework
- Comfortable working within existing or legacy codebases
Desirable:
- DevExpress / DevExtreme
- Experience modernising legacy systems
- BI / reporting tools
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools
