An award-winning UK manufacturing business is seeking an Import / Export Coordinator to support domestic and international shipments, ensuring goods are delivered safely, compliantly and on time. The company is a well-established manufacturer supplying industrial customers across the UK and international markets. This is a hands-on, office-based role suited to someone with strong experience in import/export documentation, customs compliance and international trade regulations, who enjoys working closely with logistics partners, customers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and submit import and export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and customs paperwork
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, tariffs, sanctions and licensing requirements
- Coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers
- Plan and manage UK and international shipments, selecting cost-effective transport solutions
- Track shipments, provide delivery updates and ensure on-time arrival
- Resolve customs, documentation or logistics issues quickly to minimise disruption
- Monitor changes in import/export legislation and assess potential business impact
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in import/export, international trade, logistics or customs compliance
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, customs procedures, tariffs and duties
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with external partners and authorities
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
Desirable
- Diploma in Higher Education or equivalent experience
- Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or food production environments
- Familiarity with export controls and trade agreements
