A well-established global manufacturing business is seeking a Plant Accountant to join its Finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with operations and site leadership, providing accurate financial reporting and meaningful insight to support business performance. Reporting into the Operations Controller, the Plant Accountant will be responsible for cost accounting, inventory valuation, variance analysis and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The role will partner closely with operational teams to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost accounting and inventory valuation
  • Preparation and analysis of operational variances
  • Month-end reporting and financial analysis
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
  • Supporting operational efficiency and performance improvement initiatives
  • Building strong relationships with operations and site leadership

The successful candidate will be a detail-focused finance professional with strong systems and communication skills. You will ideally have:

  • AAT and/or CIMA qualification, or be actively studying towards
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline (desirable)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance role, ideally within manufacturing
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using a mainstream ERP system
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
