Are you an experienced Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step towards Management Accounting, Financial Analysis or Commercial Finance? We are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a well-established global manufacturing organisation based in Ross-on-Wye. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across management accounts, costing, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis within a large and fast‑paced international business.
Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you’ll support key accounting processes across factory operations, logistics, costing and head office functions, making this an ideal role for someone looking to broaden their commercial finance experience and progress their accounting career. Following an initial onboarding period, you’ll benefit from hybrid working and flexible hours while becoming part of a collaborative and supportive finance team.
The Role
This is a varied and commercially focused finance position where you’ll contribute to management reporting, cost analysis and business performance reporting while supporting month‑end accounting processes. The role offers excellent exposure to operational finance and would suit someone who enjoys working with data, analysing business performance and supporting financial decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month‑end accounting activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
- Produce and maintain cost centre reporting and performance analysis
- Support pricing reviews and costing activities across manufacturing operations
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support business decision‑making
- Process and review employee expenses
- Assist with reporting for factory, logistics and operational functions
- Support business performance reporting and KPI analysis
- Work closely with senior finance colleagues on continuous improvement initiatives and reporting projects
About You
We welcome applications from candidates with experience as:
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience within a finance or accounting role
- Experience supporting month‑end processes and reconciliations
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and data analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Good analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
- Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, production or engineering environments
- Exposure to management accounting, costing or financial analysis
- Studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualifications
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
