Right now, we are looking for a Peer Support Worker to play a pivotal role in our Harrow Community Mental Health Service in Harrow.

What will I be doing? The main purpose of the role is to provide excellent quality support and interventions to clients with mental health needs who require early intervention and prevention support. You will support clients throughout their time in service and empower them with the skills to cope independently. You will carry out support and interventions in line with organisational values and the ethos of recovery and co-production, as well as in line with policies and procedures.

  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with diverse mental health conditions.

  • The ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with service users, carers, peer workers, and professionals.
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills to engage with individuals in crisis and collaborate with agencies.
  • Knowledge of local mental health recovery tools, wellbeing resources, and support services.
  • Ability to assess needs, risks, and aspirations, and provide signposting to appropriate services.
