Overview
As a Housing Management Officer you will take ownership of a busy caseload of 50‑100 supported accommodation units, ensuring residents are safe, engaged and set up to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of tenancy management, including onboarding, exit meetings and embedding a Psychologically Informed Environment approach.
- Maintain GDPR‑compliant records and deliver strong financial performance, focusing on arrears management, income collection and benefits guidance.
- Coordinate timely repairs, monitor property standards and maintain communication between residents, support teams and contractors.
- Navigate housing systems and sustain tenancies for vulnerable individuals, including those facing mental health challenges, substance dependency, domestic abuse or young‑people’s needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Solid experience in rent collection, arrears recovery and application of the pre‑action protocol.
- Proven ability to manage complex welfare benefit claims and navigate DWP and Housing Benefit systems.
- Background supporting vulnerable individuals and collaborative work with local authorities, support workers and external agencies.
- Strong knowledge of tenancy management, housing legislation and income‑related processes.
- Excellent IT capability, accurate data handling and confidence using housing management systems.
- Exceptional communication, numeracy and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain productive relationships.
- Highly organised, self‑motivated and able to manage time effectively while travelling across London.
