As an Intervention Worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Highbury Approved Premises. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence. A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

• Supporting high-risk individuals transitioning from prison back into the community.
• Providing guidance, promoting positive behaviour, and helping residents build independence while maintaining a structured environment.
• Preparing meals and supporting rehabilitation plans in collaboration with probation and external agencies.
• Ensuring residents follow rules such as curfews and drug/alcohol testing.
• Assisting in running and documenting activities, completing daily tasks, and keeping the premises safe, clean, and secure through regular checks and communication.
• Empowering residents to take responsibility for their own lives, while providing support and supervision as needed.

You’ll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with others, offering a flexible and responsive approach.
• Optimism about people’s potential for change and the ability to learn quickly, gather information, and make informed decisions.
• The ability to set and maintain clear boundaries, using authority appropriately while maintaining a positive, pro-social approach.
• Accurate record-keeping and sharing of information, while respecting confidentiality.
• Understanding the emotional and behavioural impact of trauma and working with individuals displaying various emotions and behaviours.
• Ability to work well within a team, leading by example, and taking a hands-on approach to practical tasks like cooking, gardening, and leisure activities.
• A good understanding of safeguarding issues and how to address them.
