Right now, we are looking for a Children and Families Worker to play a pivotal role in our Domestic Abuse Service in Croydon.

This role focuses on supporting women and their children through a strengths-based approach, building positive relationships to help them achieve their goals. Responsibilities include creating and reviewing support plans, advocating for families, and assisting mothers with parenting skills. The role also involves delivering educational and recreational play sessions during term time and planning holiday activities. A key aspect is supporting families experiencing domestic abuse and ensuring children's voices shape the service through creative engagement. The position requires collaboration with external agencies, strict adherence to safeguarding and confidentiality policies, and active contribution to key outcomes such as health, safety, achievement, positive contribution, and economic wellbeing.

Here’s what the team will be looking for: This role is open to female applicants only under Schedule 9 (1a) of the Equality Act 2010 due to the nature of the work. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach, with a strong belief in the capacity for change in service users. They should be skilled in supporting families affected by domestic abuse, working collaboratively with statutory, voluntary, and community partners. Key requirements include the ability to handle sensitive information within confidentiality guidelines, a solution-focused mindset, and a sound understanding of safeguarding practices.
