Right now, we are looking for a Senior Recovery Worker to play a pivotal role in our Mental Health and Complex Needs Service in Tower Hamlets.

Tower Hamlets Supported Living Services are intended for service users with a mental health need, some of whom have multiple and/or enduring needs such as dual diagnosis. With an emphasis on supporting the transition for service users who may have had a significant admission to institutional care, the service has a strong focus on supporting service users with their journey towards recovery and independence. Tower Hamlets Supported Living Services support service users most disabled by their mental ill-health. Service users presently residing in Tower Hamlets Supported Living Services are provided with intensive support for their complex needs.

Cannon Street Road is a 24-7 service catering for individuals with complex needs (mental health and/or dual diagnosis and/or neurodivergence needs and/or physical health issues etc). The project has 20 units. The service delivery is strength-based, recovery-oriented, co-productive, and person-centred.

The Dual-Diagnosis Lead will provide excellent quality dual diagnosis support through assessment, support planning, coaching, and motivational interviewing to service users who have drug/alcohol and mental health concerns to ensure they move forward in their recovery journey. They will support the Service Manager to lead the running of this service and delivery outcomes configured by the local authority, Tower Hamlets. The role involves providing expert support on complex cases, mentoring and supervising Recovery Workers and students, and contributing to a high-performing, person-centred team. Responsibilities include line management duties, quality assurance through auditing, and leading the implementation of co-production strategies. The post-holder will work collaboratively with stakeholders, promote inclusion, and ensure services comply with all relevant legislation and policies. Additional duties include supporting recruitment, assessments, tenancy processes, and fostering continuous professional development and team wellbeing.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in the health, social care, or voluntary sector, with a background in managing people and supporting individuals with mental health issues, complex needs, and dual diagnoses. They have worked in high-pressure, challenging environments and are skilled in supporting both service users and staff facing vulnerabilities. The candidate demonstrates strong communication and partnership-building abilities across sectors, is confident using Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), and excels in time management, delegation, and establishing effective processes and guidelines.
