About The Role

Following the further development of our innovative curriculum, facilities and resources and increased student demand, Mercury College are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic tutor to complement our existing team. Our students are aged 18-25, with Autism, complex needs and behaviours that challenge. A practical and engaging approach will ensure an effective and fun learning experience for students. The ability to prepare our young people for adulthood, and to be part of their local community are also crucial. Your ability to be creative and consider opportunities for accessing the community, developing independence skills and potentially work experience is crucial. Your purpose will be to create an effective, student centred, study programme that develops skills and enables our students to achieve success.

Please note this is a term time only role. Any annual leave must be taken during the 12 week college holiday periods.

About You

You will have relevant qualifications and experience of teaching groups of SEND students in a college setting with complex needs. You will have a strong understanding of how to work effectively in supporting students to make progress with their personal aspirations and targets as well as meeting EHCP outcomes. We are a small college, so the ability to teach across a range of curriculum areas is advantageous. This is a rewarding opportunity for the right candidate. You will work directly with other colleagues from care and clinical services as well as liaising with parents, other stakeholders, and community partners. This ability to work collaboratively is an essential part of your role as a Tutor.

In return for your hard work and commitment, you will be supported in your continuous professional development and become a valued member of the education team and the college at large. We are committed to building a stable and sustainable workforce to ensure that we provide the best continuity of care for the people we support.

While we welcome applications from all candidates, some roles may require candidates to have the right to work in the UK without restrictions due to the nature of the service and staffing requirements. These roles may be prioritised for those with unrestricted right to work in the UK and due to our operational needs at the time.
