We’re looking for a proactive and technically strong 2nd Line IT Support Technician to join our IT Services team. This is a hands‑on role that goes beyond traditional support, offering the opportunity to work closely with the Director of Data & IT on technology delivery, system improvements, and security initiatives. What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll act as a key escalation point for complex technical issues while also contributing directly to projects, solution design, and the rollout of new technologies—particularly across Microsoft 365 and related platforms.
  • The role will include some travel to other sites in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire so you will need a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, learning new technologies, and making a real impact on how IT services support the wider organisation.
  • Providing 2nd / 3rd line technical support for complex incidents.
  • Supporting the planning, testing and deployment of new technologies.
  • Owning the technical delivery of IT projects including documentation.
  • Administering Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Azure AD).
  • Implementing security controls including MFA and Conditional Access.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate and improve IT processes.
  • Supporting governance and compliance activities (Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001).
  • Mentoring 1st Line IT staff and apprentices where appropriate.

About You:

Essential:

  • Experience in a 2nd Line IT Support or Systems Engineer role.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience.
  • Windows Server and Active Directory (on‑prem and hybrid).
  • Endpoint management using Intune and Autopilot.
  • Security knowledge including Defender, MFA and Conditional Access.
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in regulated or compliance‑driven environments.
  • PowerShell or automation experience.
  • Familiarity with Cyber Essentials Plus or ISO 27001.
  • Microsoft 365 or Azure certifications.
