Are you a HCPC-registered Dietician looking for a role where your expertise truly makes a difference? We’re proud to be creating a new Dietician role within our Clinical Services team. This is a unique opportunity to shape dietetic practice across residential and supported living services for adults with learning disabilities and intensive specialist support needs, placing nutrition at the heart of person-centred care.
As our Dietician, you’ll provide specialist clinical consultancy and hands-on dietetic support across our services, working closely with the people we support, care teams, families, and a wide multidisciplinary network including Speech and Language Therapists, GPs, psychologists and in-house chefs. You’ll combine direct clinical practice with service development, quality improvement and workforce education, helping to embed safe, evidence-based nutrition and hydration as a core part of everyday care - while influencing the future growth of our clinical team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering person-centred, strengths-based dietetic care that respects choice, dignity and autonomy
- Undertaking holistic nutritional assessments considering communication needs, sensory sensitivities, culture, routines and complex health needs
- Developing individualised nutrition and hydration plans in partnership with people, families and professionals
- Leading on menu planning, nutritional standards and hydration strategies in residential settings
- Providing training and guidance on nutrition, hydration, sensory needs, safe mealtime practice and dysphagia awareness
- Identifying and managing nutrition-related risks, contributing to safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act processes
- Helping to shape and develop this new role, using outcomes, audit data and feedback to drive service improvement
About You
You’ll be a compassionate and values driven clinician who enjoys working autonomously and is excited by the opportunity to influence and develop a growing clinical service.
Qualifications
Essential
- HCPC registered Dietician (UK)
- Degree in Dietetics/Nutrition (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- Evidence of ongoing CPD and reflective practice
- Strong understanding of person-centred, trauma-informed and least-restrictive approaches
- Experience managing complex caseloads
- Knowledge of dysphagia, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and social care regulation
- Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different cognitive and communication needs
Desirable
- Membership of the British Dietetic Association
- Experience working with autistic adults and/or adults with learning disabilities
