Hesley Group is recruiting for an Assistant Grounds/Maintenance Person to be based at Low Laithes, Barnsley. The full-time rota for this role is 5 days per week, Monday - Friday, from 7.30am to 4pm. This role is also open to part-time applicants.

The role involves working as part of a small team to maintain and develop the grounds of a large estate to a high standard, creating a safe, attractive, and engaging environment for residents and staff.

About You

The successful candidate must be physically fit, enthusiastic, and experienced in groundskeeping or gardening. Experience with grounds tools and equipment like hedge trimmers, pedestrian mowers, and strimmers is highly desirable; however, formal training will be provided.

The role includes working in residential gardens, communal spaces, and woodland areas, as well as responsibilities such as checking outdoor play equipment, general external cleaning, repairs, and site management duties. You should be prepared for outdoor work in all weather conditions. As part of a small team, you must be a good team player and able to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues.
