My client is a highly successful creator & operator of unique multi-faceted forward-thinking hospitality and leisure operations in both the UK and beyond. They are looking for a Deputy Manager to work in their Preston operation. With superb facilities & a real quality social feel, the operations are at the heart of the communities in which they are based & provide an amazing experience for their customers.
THE VENUE: The operation is refurbished to the highest level with luxury facilities & the whole team is committed & very collaborative. The venues have a small F & B offering of light bites and alcoholic drinks and everything is of the highest quality and service is great. With 8 screens, state-of-the-art technology, luxurious reclining seating & a warm & friendly service, the operation prides itself on being at the heart of the community with a focus on giving people great facilities and city standards within a town setting, ensuring that customers are greeted with style and have a great guest experience. They work with the local community and support local businesses & schools and hold regular film festivals etc. They want people to really enjoy being in those 4 walls when they come into the venue with the same feeling & enjoyment as watching their favourite sports team.
THE BUSINESS, ROLE & WHAT WEβRE LOOKING FOR: The successful candidate must have a strong background in cinemas and strong experience of screening big blockbusters, independent films, world cinema & live screenings etc. We are looking for an experienced cinema manager who has a background of assisting in the running of a busy cinema operation and who wants to be part of something exciting, growing their career further as the company develops. What are we looking for?
- The successful candidate will have a background as a strong Deputy or Assistant Manager of a cinema operation with a background within a cool, social cinema setting. Someone who can think outside of the box, over & above what the usual cinemas are doing.
- Experience & knowledge of working with world cinema, independent films & the screening of live events etc with a good knowledge in these areas, programming & promotions for these events with ideas of how to add value, giving cinema goers what they are looking for & attracting new audiences.
- Experience of assisting in the running of a cinema business - some experience of programming, up to date with technology and software and experience of using systems.
- Great leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate & inspire the team, motivating them to provide the highest standards of service, supporting the recruitment & training of new starters in your team.
- Strong attention to detail & organisational skills.
- Pro-active with the ability to create audiences & give them a great guest experience at all times.
- The ability to ensure that the team are adhering to all policies & procedures - health & safety, food safety, fire safety, Film Classification & licensing law.
- An awareness of competitors & market trends within cinemas β looking at things such as local marketing opportunities around new film launches etc.
- A great personality & someone who really motivates and gains the buy-in of the team as well as being able to handle any guest queries or problems effectively.
- A real passion for film & having the flexibility and scope that comes with not being part of a huge brand.

LOCATION: The role is based in Preston & we are looking for someone who is based close to Preston or who can commute to the area (from the likes of Blackburn, Bolton, Blackpool, Lytham St Annes, Burnley, Chorley, Wigan, Southport, Leyland, Rossendale etc).
SALARY & PACKAGE: This is an amazing opportunity with a salary of around Β£32,000 with the potential to pay a little bit more for the right candidate plus various benefits.
