Our client is an award-winning international hotel operator that is continuing to grow & invest in its portfolio of successful operations. They are seeking to recruit a pro-active Sales & Marketing Manager who is looking to work part-time & wants to join a busy hotel, renowned for its corporate business, excellent meeting rooms, event space, corporate banqueting facilities & amazing service & an excellent guest experience.
This is a great opportunity for a pro-active, commercially driven sales and marketing manager to represent the property, driving revenue by successfully selling all aspects of the hotel, building relationships within the local area & the wider national market, driving revenue growth, cultivating strong connections & further enhancing the hotel’s reputation.
Required Experience:
- A strong Sales & Marketing Manager with a strong proven track record & who has worked in a similar quality hotel with a focus on corporate business.
- The ability to deliver on targets, proactively increase business from existing accounts and securing new business across all market segments, targeting business from competitor hotels and venues within the local area & nationally with a focus on corporate, meeting & events space & large banqueting facilities.
- The ability to put together a sales & marketing plan, focusing on hotel objectives and strategies to support the hotel’s budgeted delivery of sales & revenue, taking ownership of these & having responsibility for driving & delivering on the agreed strategies.
- The ability to identify & seek out both new & repeat business for all areas of the business with a focus on corporate, meeting and events and banqueting whilst penetrating new accounts, managing them effectively to secure business & increase market share as well as building Key Account relationships to maximise revenue opportunities from key national accounts who have requirements in the area.
- The ability to deliver targeted sales & marketing activity using direct selling, promotions & digital campaigns.
- The ability to work with the hotel revenue team, GM & Area Sales Director to devise strategies and tactics to retain and grow the business, supporting revenue maximisation.
- Happy to attend hotel commercial meetings around sales & business reviews, contributing to & supporting the preparation of annual budgets etc.
- The ability to plan and execute local hotel marketing campaigns, putting together local hotel sales and marketing collateral as well as identifying and targeting local leisure attractions to develop mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships, managing relationships with local attractions to maximise opportunities for joint working.
- Responsibility for all hotel’s social media activity, managing & implementing the hotel’s local social media strategy, ensuring the hotel’s online presence & website are constantly kept updated.
- Happy to attend regular networking & business events, raising the profile of the hotel & any networking opportunities whilst also maximising any local PR opportunities.
- Work closely with the General Manager & hotel team to ensure a strong sales culture throughout the hotel, using initiatives & tools to identify sales leads & recognising success. Also maximise use of all company systems & marketing tools & attend regular company sales team meetings & events & participate in company-wide sales & marketing initiatives.
- Review and manage the sales budget/P&L and allocated expenditure.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, within a hospitality environment & ideally within a corporate business-focused hotel.
- Experience of Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and Teams / Zoom for virtual selling and meetings.
- Experience of running social media for a hotel using Social Media and Digital Marketing Channels (i.e. Facebook, Instagram).
- A bright, outgoing personality with the ability to network & create strong internal & external relationships.
- Dynamic & passionate about sales & the industry.
- Driven to achieve results, highly motivated & creative.
- A great communicator with strong interpersonal, verbal & written skills & a strong proven sales & negotiation skills & the ability to influence & communicate at all levels.
- Happy to work from the hotel for 3 days a week & travel to meetings where necessary.
Package & Benefits:
The role is a part-time position paying an hourly rate of £19.24 per hour. We are looking for a candidate who is looking to work part-time, but is happy to be based at the hotel for 3 days a week. There may be flexibility to increase this to 4 days in the future or to stretch the equivalent of 3 days-worth of hours across more days of the week, but we are looking for someone who is happy to be based at the hotel on the hours they are working.
