General Assistant Required Boutique Guest House – Ambleside, Lake District

£12.50–£14.00 per hour DOE

Live-in accommodation for a single person or couple

My client is a stunning independent boutique guest house operation located in a beautiful setting in the heart of Ambleside, Lake District. They are currently looking for a General Assistant to join the team in a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operations of this charming small boutique guest house. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety within their role and is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences. Working closely with the owners and wider team, you will be involved in all aspects of the operation and play a key role in ensuring guests receive a warm, welcoming and memorable stay.

The Role Will Include:

  • Front of House & Guest Services
    • Welcoming guests and creating a friendly first impression
    • Managing guest check-ins and check-outs
    • Handling guest enquiries and requests efficiently and professionally
    • Delivering outstanding customer service throughout the guest journey
  • Food & Beverage Support
    • Assisting with breakfast preparation and service
    • Clearing and resetting tables
    • Maintaining high standards within dining and guest areas
    • Supporting the smooth running of breakfast operations
  • Housekeeping Support
    • Assisting in maintaining exceptionally high housekeeping standards
    • Ensuring bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas are maintained to a meticulous standard
    • Supporting housekeeping requirements where needed alongside the part-time housekeeper

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a boutique guest house, hotel, or pub with bedrooms
  • Experience in the hands-on running of a small hotel, guest house or similar operation
  • Previous experience checking guests in and out and managing guest enquiries
  • Ability to support food and beverage operations, particularly breakfast service
  • Some housekeeping experience with strong attention to detail
  • Flexible approach with the ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Positive, proactive and hands-on attitude
  • Desire to live and work within a beautiful Lake District setting
