HESIS is growing, and we’re looking for experienced Fire & Security Engineers to support our work across HMP sites in London, Kent, and Sussex. We’re a trusted UK provider of Fire & Security and Hard FM solutions, working with major clients and national contractors. Our reputation is built on quality, safety, and doing the job properly.

Role and Responsibilities

The Role:

  • Service, maintenance, fault finding, and commissioning
  • Fire alarms, CCTV, access control & intruder systems
  • Working to industry standards (e.g. BS 5839-1)
  • Supporting compliance, safety, and high-quality delivery

You’ll be part of a supportive operations team but trusted to manage your own workload and deliver results on site.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Fire & Security systems
  • Strong skills in servicing, maintenance or install and fault finding
  • Good understanding of industry standards (e.g. BS 5839-1)
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to undergo enhanced security screening (BS7858)

Qualifications & Skills

  • FIA qualifications (BS 5839-1 Fundamentals / Advanced FD&A)
  • FESS NVQ Level 3 (or working towards)
  • ECS Gold Card (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in high-security or regulated environments (e.g. HMP)
  • Basic IT/networking knowledge (IP-based systems)
