Operational basis at London Heathrow head office, reporting to the UK Tec Ops Manager. The role specifically relates to the recovery, input, and output of all Out of service assets across the three business functions (RAC/TNC/24-7) for all out of service assets within the Hertz Fleet. We are currently looking for someone to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Area Controller Maintenance is responsible for the day-to-day damage activities within Fleet Maintenance and Body Damage (BD). This includes all input and output from the BD induction process, maintenance repairs, RTA recoveries, with emphasis on ticket opening and allocation of assets for repair and control of returning assets via 1fleet systems. The Area Controller Maintenance will be responsible for supporting the repairing of our assets at the cheapest cost, within the shortest notice period, respecting the quality standard needed. The Area Controller Maintenance will also support the wreck process responsibilities so far as administration of titles and end of life documentation, which are to identify, reclassify, and sell the wrecks within the shortest amount of time and at the best cost. All roadside recovery costs for RTCs. Financial recovery will also be under their responsibilities, such as spend forecasting for asset recovery, PO generation for completed work, and end of life purchase requests, FNOL recovery requests.

What You’ll Do

  • Effectively manage all input/output and recoveries for Repairs, Engineering and associated relationships with Hertz providers in line with the contractual and performance requirements.
  • Communicate body damage requirements to ensure maximum efficiency and implement correction actions as required.
  • Review all mechanical requests and communicate to field operations the required repair provider, date/time/location.
  • Ensure all suppliers are working to our contracted SLA’s and put in place mitigating actions where concerns are raised.
  • Manage vehicle down time and implement strategies while working with the RAC/TNC/24-7 to reduce VOR time and measure supplier KPIs for all Maintenance and Body functions.
  • Support FNOL / HCM in recovery of charges.
  • Daily systems use – Audatex /1Fleet/Strada.
  • Manage repaired returning fleet to RT status in MARS/1Fleet.
  • Support fleet recommendations with the RAC/TNC/24-7 to ensure cost efficiencies.
  • Determine areas of development and training requirements for front line operations (continual improvement process).

  • Manufacture warranty services
  • Recall control with Fleet and Hertz EU Tec Ops team
  • Line managers, as and when required.
  • Rental branches, Multi site management, Area managers
  • Supply chain providers for Body Repair/ Maintenance /logistic partners
  • Recovery companies for retention of Hertz assets.

Manages

  • Body damage input systems (1fleet)
  • Mechanical input systems (1fleet)
  • Financial recording and control RTC recoveries and provider selection.

Contributes to department performance by meeting key metrics such as

  • OOS metrics (Nor-rev days, downtime management, VOR)
  • Body damage control
  • Maintenance cost control
  • Average costs per transactions (roadside recovery)
  • Wreck provisions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Meng Mechanical Engineering, IMechE or BTEC ATA Accreditation or higher in motor vehicle repair technology, or Body estimator qualifications.
  • Expert proficiency in Audatex, Microsoft 365, Excel, Oracle.
  • Moderate proficiency in Auto Data, Thatcham work streams, Eypx 1link, AI management software.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations.
