An exciting opportunity is available to join our busy Revenues Team

The successful candidate will administer Business Rates by providing accurate advice to businesses and their agents regarding liability and relief entitlement and take effective and timely action to recover unpaid Business Rates and Council Tax.

We are looking for an individual with experience of dealing with customers, managing caseloads, interpreting policies or legislation, and making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Applicants may have gained these skills within local government, debt recovery, financial services, customer services, benefits administration, housing, enforcement, or another relevant field.

Whilst experience of working in a Revenues Team, particularly within Business Rates (Non-Domestic Rates), would be advantageous, it is not essential. We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate strong transferable skills and a willingness to learn. Experience of using the Civica OpenRevenues system would also be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week).

Benefits include:

  • 27 – 32 days annual leave (depending on length of Local Gvt Service) - plus all bank holidays
  • Flexi-Leave - accrue extra hours & exchange for up to 2 days leave per month
  • Free gym membership
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme

The Council operates a hybrid working system where employees may work up to three days per week from home.
